Burnout shouldn’t be the price of faithfulness. We open with fresh stories from Tennessee, Great Britain, and Ireland, then get honest about a quiet crisis: leaders who preach healing while living exhausted. From there we anchor in Scripture—Exodus 15, Psalm 147, Jeremiah 33, Deuteronomy 28—to remind ourselves that God not only sends us, he sustains and heals us. The message is both pastoral and practical: exhaustion is not sacrifice; it’s often self-reliance disguised as virtue.

We walk through Jethro’s blunt counsel to Moses as a map out of guaranteed burnout and into ministry longevity: delegate, share the load, and stop treating availability like righteousness. Sabbath emerges as a courageous act of trust, not a day off you fill with ministry planning. When we cease from building, we confess the truth—God runs the world. We unpack the Hebrew texture of rest that means settle, dwell secure, be at ease, and we connect it to Jesus’ call to the weary: come, and receive restorative rest.

Then we get very concrete. Protect a weekly Sabbath and put it on the calendar. Turn off devices, look your family in the eye, read together, walk, laugh, and let unhurried time repair what hurry has frayed. Honor sleep as sacred—eight hours as an act of faith, not weakness—because sleep guards judgment, regulates emotions, sharpens discernment, and fortifies health. You are not the Savior; Jesus is. You do not give the increase; Jesus does. That truth frees you to lead with clarity, finish your race strong, and model a life ordered by wisdom instead of adrenaline.

If this resonates, share it with a friend who needs permission to rest. Subscribe, leave a review, and tell us one practice you’ll adopt this week—Sabbath on the calendar, devices off, or an earlier bedtime. Your story might be the nudge another leader needs to heal.

We love to hear from our listeners! Thank you!

It was powerful. The prayer meetings that we had together just shook the entire cabin we were staying in. You probably saw the post on either on Facebook or Instagram. Of the very powerful moves of God that we had in every devotion. And I'm excited about what God is doing in these last days through the next generation. There is a generation coming up that is unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are anointed and they know how to pray and pray and I'm so grateful just to see what God is doing through the next generation in the last hour of the church. Then of course on Sunday we got to be with Brother Blackman here, Brother and Sister Blackman here in Tennessee as well. And oh just what a beautiful church beautiful people of God. Just what the Lord is doing across Tennessee is amazing. Last week um Sister Robinette and I uh well actually I was in Great Britain and Ireland by myself and had the tri tremendous privilege of being a part of the Central District Conference again. And oh my goodness I just I just gotta give honour to Bishop Leroy Francis Francis Bishop Freighter Bishop Frederic and all of the leaders in the central district uh area of Great Britain and Ireland and to the dirigent district central it was amazing it is amazing what God is doing in the central district in the district central I actually got to see Sister Mitchell there in person. She is one of the great leaders in the central district of that region did we have some moves of God in all of our services then on the weekend I got to be in Liverpool with the missionary Hemus family at Liverpool avec la mission that is in Liverpool and tremendous leaders that there are in that area and just to be a part of what God is doing in these last days is amazing but the word and the theme that the Lord gave apostolic mentoring this year is restore. And we have talked about this and we have been slowly moving into the meaning of this word restore and gentlemen and we have been declaring this fact that in these last days God is going to restore his kingdom amen to restore the fivefold ministry in full operation not just pastors, evangelists and teachers but there will be a full restoration of apostles and prophets and when there is this restoration there's going to be multiplication like we have never even imagined was possible and yes it will be billions God is also going to restore the gifts of the spirit because we must have a full operation of the gifts of the spirit to see the multiplication God wants to give us in these last days God is also going to restore power, dominion and authority and I believe the prodigals are going to come home in great numbers when they come home they're gonna find restoration to salvation and even restoration to purpose in God's church and God's kingdom but while I was in Great Britain and Ireland the the Lord directed me on a topic that was uh really something that convicted means I find that the Lord frequently gives me topics to talk about that I'm struggling with the Seigneur Which is most of the time pretty embarrassing and and of course at the Central District Conference the assignment the Lord gave me was to talk on this topic and I found myself both convicted and challenged as I began to talk about the topic I'm going to share today this is a critical area that we need global restoration whether we want to believe it or not whether we want to admit it or not there is a quiet crisis amongst ministers that we seldom hear discussed dont on parler we preach healing every service we're anointing the sick service we cast out devils we believe in miracles signs and wonders but here is the dark ministry fact sombre du ministère many of us who carry healing for others are quietly living paralyzed by chronic exhaustion ourselves many apostolic ministers and believers who who look the part and play the apostolic part of healthy kingdom servants we are living in the shadow of physical emotional and spiritual exhaustion emotional spiritual and physique and when God gave me this assignment for Great Britain and Ireland I began to do a research on what are the statistics of ministerial health globally statistics and I found a recent study that revealed what the health of God's people is. And when you compare it to many other professions in the world this study found that ministers have the leading uh statistics for burnout proved the ministers have the plus the burnout on BU2 they have anxiety related illnesses that are at the top of the chart they have long term fatigue issues that are leading the study and here's the fact today that should not be the case amongst God's people the Lord said to remind you today that the same promise that he made to Israel in the book of Exodus belongs to his New Testament church apparent as an Eglise Novotestament look at Exodus chapter 15 and verse 26 The Bible says this And the Lord said if thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of God and will do that which is right in the sight of the Lord and will give ear to his commandments and keep his statutes I will put none of these diseases upon thee which I have brought upon the Egyptians and here it is for I am the Lord that healeth thee. Here's what you can be confident of today. If God has called you if God has anointed you if God has sent you to that city in that if he has armed you with weaponry to serve him in these last days that same God will keep you and that same God will heal you will guarantee and I believe today that there is going to be great mass ministry healing on this apostolic mentoring episode every minister every believer in every city every nation the Lord said to tell you today I am the Lord that healeth thee you will not be weary in well doing God is going to help you today God is going to give you fresh anointing today God is going to strengthen your mind God is going to heal your emotions I want you to lift your hands right now wherever you are là où vous êtes unless you're driving a car but I want to pray for you right now because there is healing that God is going to give you by the authority of the word of God by the power of the name of Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Ghost I command you to be healed in your mind I command you to be healed in your emotions I command you to be healed in your body dans ton corps I rebuke the sickness that is in you the Lord that healeth thee is healing you right now you are to speak into the atmosphere and prophesy right now and prophétise I am healed in my mind I am healed in my thoughts I am healed in my emotions I am healed in my body it is the Will of God that you be healed right now. This powerful revelation of God. God being our healer. It is broadcasted and multiplied throughout the pages of scripture. King David said it like this in Psalm 147 and verse 3. He said, He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. Hallelujah. The prophet Jeremiah said it like this.

Exhaustion Is Not Ministry

Jethro’s Wisdom: Delegate And Avoid Burnout

Sabbath As Trust Not Recovery

SPEAKER_01

Jeremiah 33, chapter 33, verse 6. Jeremy chapter 2, verse 6. He said, Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal them and reveal to them, here it is, abundance of prosperity and security. Hallelujah. I want you to receive this prophetic word into your mind, your heart and your body. Deuteronomy chapter 28. It reveals the healing and blessing that belongs to those who walk with God. Why don't you just touch your chest right now and say, I walk with God? This verse of scripture belongs to you. In verse number one of chapter 28. The Bible said, And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. Verse 2 says this. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you if you obey the voice of the Lord your God. And I release this into your spiritual system right now. The Bible said. God said his prophetic word declared. Verse 3 Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. He said, Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your cattle, and the increase of your herds, and the young of your flock. Blessed shall be your basket and your needing bowl. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. Look at verse seven. The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. Verse eight the Lord will command the blessing on you in your barns and in all the that you undertake, and he will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. Now hear what the Spirit is saying to the church today. God is not the healer of sinners only. Now listen to me today. We've all said it before. When somebody talks to us and says, When's the last time you had a day off? We kind of blow on our knuckles and dust off our badge. And we say, Well, I haven't had a day off in months. God is not glorified by your exhaustion. Exhaustion is not ministry. I'll rest when I get to heaven. That is a lie from the enemy. God does not get any honor from you being exhausted, serving in his kingdom. Somewhere along the way. Exhaustion is not a fruit of the spirit. Did you hear what I said? There's no honor in being exhausted. Fatigue is not evidence that you are right where God wants you to be. Exhaustion is not sacrifice, it's proof of spiritual pride. It's spiritual pride that whispers this. I am indispensable. Nobody can do it but me. They can't get it done if I don't do it. If I don't carry this, it will be dropped. Moses tried to lead that ex that same way. He did it all. He met with everybody. He made all the decisions. He had no breaks. He had to answer every call. If he had a cell phone, he had to answer every text message. The Bible says this in Exodus 18 and verse 13. That Moses sat to judge the people, and the people stood around Moses from morning until night. That sounds familiar to us, doesn't it? I got my phone in my hand from morning until night. That's how some of us are leading in the kingdom. But Jethro came to Moses. Jethro is Moses' father-in-law. A priest of Midian. And he confronts Moses. And he leads him away from guaranteed burnout into ministry longevity. Jethro took one look at Moses and said to him. In verse 17, he said, What you are doing is not good. Verse 17, he said, This is not the way to lead in God's kingdom. You're doing too much. You're on the path to burnout. You don't take breaks. You don't delegate. You're doing everything. Verse 18, he said, You and the people will certainly wear yourselves out, for the thing that you're doing is too heavy for you. You are not able to do it alone. The Hebrew idea behind the statement, wear yourselves out. It implies a gradual erosion of strength. A slow depletion of power. The grinding down and wearing out of everything effective. And God did not call you to wear out or wear away either. God has called us to lead with wisdom. That's why you need to receive this word today. Exhaustion worn as honor is false humility. Exhaustion is often the revelation of self-reliance. It comes from the word Shabbat. And also the verb Shabbat. It literally means to cease. It means to stop the warfare. Look at Genesis 2 and 2. The Bible said, and on the seventh day, God ended his work, which he had made, and he rested, that is Shabbat, on the seventh day. God did not rest because he was tired. There must be a point in your week where you cease striving. Where you stop building. Where you don't talk. Where you stop leading. When you don't have to minister. When you're not doing, going, counseling, preaching. Sabbath is not a recovery from weakness, it is a declaration of trust.

SPEAKER_02

This is what Sabbath says.

Rest That Settles The Soul

SPEAKER_01

I have stopped working. Because it is God that sustains the world and not me. I have stopped working. Because I am not the center of the universe, God is. And here is the reality. A dedicated Sabbath. A dedicated stop from work. An interruption of ministry activity. Proves that you have faith in God and not faith in self. A Sabbath always confronts pride. Sabbath dismantles the lie that the kingdom will collapse without you. When you have the maturity to take a step back. You are declaring God is God and I am not God. I want to look at the biblical concept of rest. The Hebrew word often translated as rest is a word called Nuak. And it means to settle down. To calm yourself emotionally. To dwell in security. To be at ease. To remain at peace. It conveys stability. Security. And a groundedness.

SPEAKER_02

And what I'm sorry.

You Are Not The Savior

Two Practices: Sabbath And Sleep

SPEAKER_01

To be grounded, to have a firm foundation. It conveys that you have rested and you believe in the necessity of rest. That's why King David said this in Psalm chapter 23. Psalm 2. The Bible said the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. It goes on to say, He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside still waters. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me. It is your rod and your staff that comfort me. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. I want you to hear this today. It means that you know that you need refreshing. That's why Jesus said, Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laid, I will give you rest. This is restorative rest. Not laziness. It is the gift of God of renewal. Intentional Sabbath. The intentional rest of God's people. Is you acknowledging that you have human limitations. And that you must trust in God's unlimited power. Ministers who refuse to rest are not more committed. If you refuse to rest, you are infected with your own ego. You're afraid of slowing down. But the intentionality of Sabbath rebukes the fear. But of power. And here it is. A sound mind. It says you are not the savior. Jesus is. You are not the builder of the church. Jesus is. You are not the end from the beginning. That is Jesus. And here's another thing. You don't give the increase. It is Jesus who does that. So here's what you need to do as a minister. I know we're getting close to closing time, so I want to do this quickly. Every believer. Every minister. Every nation that's on right now. This is what you need to do. Number one. Protect a weekly sabbath. Protege a sabbath hebdomadaire. Not a vague idea of a day off. A scheduled something you put on the calendar. Something you protect. A day that you that you have determined this is my Sabbath. No ministry planning. No emergencies that are not truly emergencies. No sermon writing. You cease from all activity. You turn off all devices. You're present with your family. You go take a walk together. You sit on the couch with your wife and you cuddle and you kiss. That might have been self-serving. I might have just been that was selfish. I'm sorry. I'm preaching words I want Sister Robinette to practice. I know she's listening right now. That was a self-serving word. Get on the couch and cuddle and kiss. Put your phone in another room. Don't let your kissing get distracted. You hold hands. You talk about your marriage. You talk about your love. Brother Ogie, you and Sister Ogie are driving right now. You ought to reach over and hold her hand. That is so scriptural, biblical, and blessed. Make time to be together. Read a book together.

SPEAKER_02

Lisez un livre ensemble.

SPEAKER_01

Sister Robinet and I are reading two books together right now. And we're in this cabin, you can see it behind me. And yesterday, Sister Robinet and I sat at this table right here. And we started talking about the books that we're reading together, chapter by chapter. And I started telling her what the Lord was speaking to me. No phones. No computers. No emergencies. A Sabbath for my wife and I. And I'm not ashamed to tell you. We started talking about how we felt about our marriage. And as I talked about how much I love Sister Robinet. And then she started talking to me and she started to cry. And before long we were kissing. That's alright. You gotta be intentional about the Sabbath. Your family has to know their priority. Be present with your family. Laugh with your kids. Make time that is not interrupted by people. Ceasing is a biblical obedience. The Sabbath is a biblical order. Number two. Just just get ready. You're not gonna like this. Me and Brother Sayers have to work on this. That's right, Brother Sayers. I threw you under the bus with me. We've been friends so long, I know your habits. We've been friends so long, you know my habits. And this point is gonna convict both of us. Honor sleep as sacred. Um honor sommeil command sacred. Neither brother Sayers and I sleep hardly at all. That's not healthy for the kingdom. That's not good for longevity and ministry.

SPEAKER_02

That's the path to burnout.

SPEAKER_01

This is let's be honest, let's be transparent. Look at what Psalm chapter 127 and verse 1 says. Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it. Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Verse 2 says this. It says, It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows. Here it is, for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

SPEAKER_02

Sleep is described as a gift.

SPEAKER_01

Rejecting sleep is rejecting the gift of God. Rejetez le sommeil, c'est rejeter le don de Dieu. You wouldn't reject the Holy Ghost. You don't reject the house of God. But you reject rest. And rest is a biblical gift. Here's a medical fact. Voici un fait médical. Chronic sleep deprivation affects your decision making. It affects your emotional regulation. It affects spiritual clarity. And this is terrible. It affects your physical immunities. No sleep. Pas de sommeil. No health. Pas de santé. No health. No ministry. You are not serving the Lord or his calling upon your life by staying up late trying to solve problems that are his responsibility.

SPEAKER_02

You can't make good decisions without rest.

Sleep As God’s Gift And Guardrail

SPEAKER_01

You can't have steady emotions without a sabbat. You can't make good decisions without sleep. You need cognitive clarity. Sleep is not an indulgence. Sleep reveals you trust the Lord. Sleep reveals you want to give God's people your very best. Close your eyes. Trust the Lord. Let it all go. And get yourself eight hours of sleep every night. You're not going to do more for God with less sleep. You're going to do less for God with less sleep. So in closing, I want to challenge every one of you. Delegate some things. Practice physical discipline. Get some exercise.

SPEAKER_02

Fet des exercises.

SPEAKER_01

Take a walk. Stretch your body.

SPEAKER_02

Fait de stretch.

SPEAKER_01

Get some rest. This is the will of God for you. Protect a weekly Sabbath. Honor sleep as a sacred gift of God.

SPEAKER_02

Honore le sommeil comme étant un don sacré de Dieu.

SPEAKER_01

This is the will of God for you. Longevity in kingdom ministry. Working effectively. God is here today. To dismantle and rebuke the culture of exhaustion. God is here to renew strength to your body and clarity to your mind. And you shall finish strong. You're going to run this race. And when the trumpet sounds, you're going to be a part of that catching away. Because you didn't burn out. You burn straight up. Hallelujah. So in closing here today. I want you to take yourselves off mute here in a moment. And I want us to thank God for rest. Thank God for peace. Thank God for the Sabbath. And I want us to commit to the Lord. I am not gonna burn out. But I'm going to serve the Lord with discipline and with character and with longevity. Let's pray together right now. By the authority of the word of God. By the power of the name of Jesus Christ. By the power of the Holy Ghost. I prophesy health in God's people right now.

SPEAKER_00

Peace in Jesus' name. Bless you people today, God. Bless you people today, God.

SPEAKER_01

Bless you people today, God. In the name of Jesus.

SPEAKER_00

In the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus.

SPEAKER_01

In the name of the Lord. In the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Receive rest in Jesus' name. Be healed in Jesus' name. Protect the Sabbath in Jesus' name. Put your head on your pillow tonight and let there be abundance of rest and peace in Jesus' name. God has anointed you. And God has healed you. Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord, for this word.
